This is the grimoire of one Benji Miller, (an unaffiliated, original character,) who shall record hereupon varied notes and observations made in the magician's study of the Greatest and Most True Knowledge, the Esoteric and Arcane Mysteries, which require the eradication of conceptual limitations such as the left-hand path and the right. This volume is only for the most advanced and experienced of practitioners (18+); proceed further with caution, humility, and utmost respect.

β β INITIATION.
Hi! This is an independent roleplaying blog developed and written by Shelby. I've (regretfully) been doing this since I was a teenager; I have 10+ years of experience writing and roleplaying both online and off. I don't really believe in exhaustive rules or regulations; the basic, standard etiquette applies! Please feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions or concernsβbut be aware that I am pretty busy offline, juggle several other blogs, and am a little shy, so sometimes it may take me a minute to get back to you. That being said, I would love to be friends, and I genuinely mean that!β β INVOCATION.
Benji was originally developed offline, so he fits a bit awkwardly into the standard roleplaysphere, and I am very aware (and self-conscious) about this. For one, I don't use icons on this blog; I am very married to the concept of the faceclaim I've chosen, which doesn't have many resources. That being said, I have nothing against icons and invite my writing partners to use them as they see fit! Secondly, he's my special little boy and a bit overpowered. I understand that is offputting to some people and won't take it personally if this blog isn't for you; however, I would like to state I will never use him to godmod and will always plot and discuss the intricacies with my writing partner before pulling any big moves.β β BANISHMENT.
These are the things I'm intense about. (Sorry, I know this is the worst part of these pages.) First, this is is a trigger-heavy and taboo-friendly project. I will be respectful of others and their needs, but I also expect people to be respectful of me! Writing is my artform of choice; I have a strong moral compass and believe firmly and passionately that art is the safest and most powerful way to confront troubling ideas. I am open to notes but not to scolding or bullying. Second, I have a very small select group of people I prefer not to see on my dashboard, but I am not interested in broadcasting personal dramas or perpetuating petty beef. If I see you interacting with one of these people, or someone else that I find concerning, I will message you privately; you are entitled to make your own judgments on whether or not you want to continue interacting, but depending on the situation I may feel the need remove myself from that tangential proximity. I expect the same from you!

β MAGICALLY INCLINED. Benji is extremely gifted in the practice of the magical arts. Natural talent combined with dedication and extensive study has resulted in a powerful individual, for better or worse.β COMMANDING LEGIONS. Demonology is a fascination of Benji's, as a summoning was his introduction to magic. He obsession has resulted in him going the way of King Solomon, crafting spellwork to ensure that he has the power when confronted with such powerful and dangerous beings. As such, he can command and bend infernal entities to his will, though some are able to combat his abilities.β AN ETERNAL APPRENTICE. In his pursuit of having as much occult knowledge as possible, Benji has sought out the tutelage of the most powerful witches, magicians, and entities spanning space, time, and even worlds. Those who have accepted him as a student have given him access to knowledge and abilities that otherwise might have died with them, or never entered the world as we know it at all.
I. Benji was born the only child of Zachary and Rebecca Miller. The home was loving and supportive, and Benji was a happy child, albeit very anxious and shy. He was bright, but found it hard to connect with other children, preferring to let his extroverted best friend handle social interaction while he quietly focused on his interests in the background. He did very well in school and his love of books and learning were encouraged by those around him.II. When Benji was fifteen, his parents booked a week-long getaway for their wedding anniversary. Their flight went missing en route to Italy, and remnants of the plane were soon discovered in the middle of the ocean. There were no survivors. Now an orphan with nobody else to claim him, Benji was uprooted from Colorado and sent to live with his estranged uncle in San Francisco, California.III. Benji was always distantly aware of his father's brother, mostly from vague mentions of his supposed wealth, but he'd never met him before. He soon learned why.IV. Erik Miller, owner and CEO of nationwide movie theatre chain Red Curtain Cinemas, had not spoken to his younger brother since the two of them came of age. He was heartbroken to hear of his passing, but happy to welcome his son into his home. He was a lonely man. He showered Benji with gifts and adoration, giving him anything he wanted. He gave him unfettered access to his money, his resources, his experience. He also shared with him his love of film, which Benji very quickly became passionate about, too. But he also drank, inhaled cocaine, and could never resist the violence of his anger, or the urge to enter Benji's bedroom at night. He insisted on homeschooling and refused to let Benji leave the house whatsoever without permission. He heavily monitored and controlled every aspect of his nephew's life, and there were severe consequences if he were ever challenged. Usually, he wasn't. There were often consequences anyway.V. Four years of abuse on, a nineteen-year-old Benji went shopping on Haight-Ashbury with his uncle's credit card. In one of the many metaphysical shops, he found a copy of the Ars Goetia and a book
filled with rituals and recipes for summonings. Fueled by both academic interest and morbid curiosity, he bought both.VI. Benji did not believe or take stock in anything he read in either of his new books, but the idea of it all fascinated him. For fun, he decided to attempt one of the summoning rituals. He did not expect anything to happen, but he had a request in mind if the imaginary turned out to be real. Mostly as a sad, private joke.VI. The imaginary turned out to be real.VII. Erik Miller drunkenly fell off a ten-story balcony at a work party. It was a straightforward case. There were no witnesses. He left everything to his nephew.VIII. Suddenly armed with his uncle's empire, finances, and the unwavering loyalty of the demon who arranged it all, Benji found himself with more power and freedom than he ever had before. He decided to attend film school and pour his remaining efforts into the study of the occult.IX. The more Benji learned about magic, the more he began to notice how uncannily good at it he was. The better he became, the more obsessed he became. Ravenous for knowledge, he continues to faithfully study the art along with all other pursuits.X. Benji once had no power. Now he does, and he wants more. There is always more.XI. So it goes.
